Canton Community Fund | A Message from Neal Burdick, Board President
![]() |
In my years as a member of the Fund's Board of Directors, I've come to appreciate what the Fund accomplishes and how it accomplishes it. Unlike every other non-profit in Canton, we don't actually do anything, except raise money and then give it away, often to any number of those other non-profits. Looking back over the list of recipients of our recent grants, I see the public libraries in both Canton and Morley, Canton Central School (several times, for several different projects), the Church & Community Program, Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY), Cornell Cooperative Extension (for its “teaching kitchen”) and many others.
You can of course help each of these organizations and their very worthy causes. Or you can make one donation to the Canton Community Fund and thereby help all of them at once. In supporting us, you are not simply helping the Fund; you are helping your community by enabling the Fund to make a difference in the quality of life in the Town and Village we all call home. You can also help the Fund by joining the Board. If you are interested, feel free to drop me a line to learn more.
